About Us

Velo du Nord is the

“Bike of the North”

Velo du Nord was a bike shop in Afton, MN owned by fellow local cyclist, photographer, and culinary expert – Oliver Vrambout. The bike shop included a small coffee bar and a waffle maker (and had a sister restaurant owned by Oliver called ‘L’toile du Nord‘ in Bayport, MN) that would later be sold at the end of 2018 to Bjørn & Sarah who expanded it into a family business.

The Belgian Liege style waffle recipe that Oliver shared with Bjørn & Sarah was overwhelmingly popular in Afton and a dearly missed aspect of the shop. But Bjørn & Sarah were called to shift gears to careers and the Velo du Nord storefront endeavor came to a close in 2022 (with the Afton coffeeshop location now under new ownership). Although our storefront has closed, the waffles live on as we continue making fresh waffles in Hudson, WI and sell our branded waffle batter to local cafes & shops.

Velo Du Nord is happy to announce partnership with Buddy’s Bakery to serve our hot, fresh waffles with toppings during their regular business hours.

COMING SOON IN JULY 2024.
